Healthy Cranberry Orange Sauce (lower sugar)

Looking for a lower sugar healthy twist on cranberry sauce this holiday season? I’ve been making this orange cranberry sauce for years now and it’s phenomenal. I filmed this little recipe video back in 2021 when I lived in Michigan during the first snow of the season. I’m in warm sunny San Diego now and I’ve been craving that wintery, holiday atmosphere, so I’m making this classic recipe again today. Add this sauce to hollowed out baked apples and dust with powdered sugar for a gorgeous autumnal dessert (like pictured above).

Recipe:

Ingredients:

2 cups organic cranberries

2 large oranges freshly squeezed (and zest of each orange) OR 1 cup store bought orange juice

3/4 cup water (1 cup for thinner sauce)

1/3 cup stevia or sugar (1/2 cup for sweeter)

Organic ground cinnamon (to taste, or about 1/2 tablespoon)

Instructions:

In a sauce pan over medium high heat, cover, bring all ingredients to a boil. When cranberries begin to “pop”, remove the lid and stir occasionally until sauce is thickened. Add ground cinnamon to taste. Remove from heat. Can be served warm or chilled.
